Q3. Are virtual internships worth it?

A virtual internship is definitely worth it if you are someone who is looking for a way to develop your skills, English language fluency or gain real-life experience in the workplace. Being able to add a virtual internship to your CV is a great way to show future employers that you are adaptable, trustworthy and can work on your own initiative. It’s also an opportunity to meet new people, work with companies anywhere in the world without the pressure or cost of moving away/commuting.

Q4. What are the benefits of a virtual internship?

  1. Experience – it can be difficult to find a job in your preferred field of work without previous experience. A virtual internship allows you to gain experience while also helping you to improve workplace skills such as communication, organisation, and time management. These are important and necessary skills to have in any line of work and will help you in your future career
  2. No Geographical Limitations – when partaking in a virtual internship, the opportunities are endless. You can work anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own home. There’s no longer the stress of moving, applying for visas or changing your life around for your job.

  4. Technology – the number one requirement of a virtual internship is technology! You must have a laptop/computer and a good WiFi connection. Once you have started your internship you will be exposed to new technology and learn how to use various software and applications while working from home. Some of these may include G Suite, Microsoft Office, CRM systems, Google Analytics and much more.

Q5. How can I apply for a virtual internship?

Previous experience would be preferable and would benefit you, however, it’s not a requirement. Take a look at our sectors page which provides you with the tasks involved in the role and the potential minimum requirements you’ll need here https://www.virtualcti.com/internships

Q7. Can a virtual internship be added as work experience?

Of course! Some of our packages include a CV workshop session in which you’ll be shown how to add to and upgrade your CV to the highest standard, including the skills you develop and experience you’ll gain with your host company. You’ll also receive a certificate upon completion of your internship and a reference from your host company. Q8. How can I improve my English online?

We have many packages that have the option to include English lessons along with your internship. If you choose to include English lessons in your plan, we will first assess your level of English – must be at least a B1 level. From there will place you in a class with other interns at the same level, or 1 to 1 lessons, depending on the package you have selected in the application process. Typically, you will work between 25-35 hours per week with your host company and have a further 5 hours of English lessons per week.

Setting regular hours of work that you need to fulfil your duties and get your work done will help increase your efficiency. You should work when you are the most productive. While setting the working hours that suit you best, you should consider the times your boss needs you to be available, inform your co-workers when they can reach you and consider the time when you are the most productive.
